Experience Ischia beyond the coastline

5 day small-group island journey • active exploration • up to 6 guests

Ischia is a place that feels both energising and restorative at the same time. A volcanic island shaped by coastal paths, thermal waters, island villages, local food culture, and slower Mediterranean rhythms — best experienced actively and with time to explore it properly. This small-group journey is designed for travellers who enjoy walking as part of the experience itself, while still having space to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the island naturally along the way.

Over five days, we explore different sides of Ischia through scenic coastal and hill walks, local food experiences, thermal waters, village explorations, and shared moments balanced with free time to experience the island at your own pace. The journey is intentionally kept very small (up to 6 guests) to create a more relaxed, flexible, and personal experience while moving around the island together.

The Active Ischia Journey Itinerary

DAY 1 — Arrival in Ischia & Forio

Ferry crossing from Naples to Ischia, hotel check-in, and a late afternoon relaxed guided walk through the coastal town of Forio before dinner and free time for the rest of the evening.

DAY 2 — West Coast Walks & Sant’Angelo

Scenic coastal walking paths, volcanic landscapes, natural beach thermal waters, local food tastings, and time to explore the fishing village of Sant’Angelo.

DAY 3 — Ischia Porto & Thermal Relaxation

Guided exploration of Ischia Porto, the town and the castle area, followed by free time to enjoy thermal pools, visit of the gardens, or optional castle visit.

DAY 4 — Mount Epomeo Walk

Guided walk to Mount Epomeo through volcanic hill landscapes, with lunch and panoramic views overlooking the island. Free time for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

DAY 5 — Craters, Coastal Landscapes & Agriturismo Lunch

A scenic loop walk through volcanic landscapes and island landmarks, ending with lunch at a local agriturismo before a slower mid-afternoon and evening.

DAY 6 — Back to Naples and end of Tour

After breakfast we take the ferry back to Naples where we end our tour or continue your explorations.

Optional Arrival in Naples

The official journey begins in Ischia, where the group meets before taking the ferry to the island together. If you prefer arriving in Naples the day before, I’ll share a selection of recommended hotels near the port area to make the arrival easier and more flexible depending on your travel style and budget. For guests arriving early, there may also be the opportunity to join a guided walk in Naples, followed by an informal group dinner before on the evening of 20th May.

✔ Enjoy walking as part of the travel experience itself, rather than as an optional activity

Most of our guests are women travelling solo, or come with a friend or partner, and are aged 45–70.

THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN DO I NEED TO CONFIRM MY PLACE?

Bookings are typically confirmed around 6 months before departure. Because we work with small hotels and trusted local partners, early planning is essential. These journeys are best suited to travellers who are comfortable planning 9–12 months ahead.

WHY SHALL I JOIN THE WAITLIST?

Joining the waitlist does not commit you to the journey. It simply gives you early access to the full itinerary, pricing, booking details, and priority consideration while you decide whether the journey feels like the right fit for you.

You’ll also receive future updates and additional information shared privately with waitlist members during the early-booking period.

You can still inquire later depending on availability, but early planning offers the most flexibility.

HOW ACTIVE IS THIS JOURNEY?

This is an active journey with daily walking of around 2–4 hours across the day. Walks include coastal and hill paths, nature trails, village streets, and some uphill and downhill sections.

A good level of mobility, balance, and comfort walking on uneven terrain is important to fully enjoy the experience.

IS THIS SUITABLE FOR SOLO TRAVELLERS?

Yes. Most guests joining our journeys travel solo.

You’ll be part of a very small group of like-minded travellers, while still having space to enjoy independent time throughout the experience. Private rooms are always available!

DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL WALKS?

Yes. Walking is an important part of how we experience the island throughout the journey.

Across the 5 days, the itinerary includes a mix of guided nature walks and town explorations, as part of the shared group experience.

IS TRANSPORT TO ISCHIA INCLUDED?

No. Transport to/from Ischia is not included.

Before the journey, I’ll provide guidance on planning your arrival to Italy, domestic train connections, ferry bookings, and logistics through our private pre-tour Zoom calls and shared group support.
