The West Sicily Tour is a shorter tour for those who are touring Italy and have already been to Sicily but not to the West Coast. Sicily's West Coast is less known among first time travellers to Sicily. However, it's a hub of heritage, cultural and natural treasures. We are delighted to offer it with a small group trip as part of our Best Sicily Trips: the Best of Sicily Trip (10 days and 9 nights) with the West Coast Sicily Tour (6 days and 5 nights) in May 2025. Dates & Itinerary Of The West Coast Sicily Tour

Dates: 22nd* - 27th MAY 2025 (5 nights/6 days)

DAY 1 - PICK UP AT PALERMO RAILWAY STATION* - ZINGARO RESERVE COASTAL TREK
Pick up at 8.30 am.* Walk in the Zingaro Reserve (7 km) with stops at several museums, beaches and bays for a swim. Free time for lunch in San Vito Lo Capo. Afternoon transfer by coach to Trapani with a stop at salt flats and Trapani historical centre. Welcome Dinner in Trapani. Overnight in Trapani.
*please note that you need to arrive in Palermo on the day before starting the tour.
DAY 2 - ERICE
Morning guided visit of ERICE with entrances to the Dom, the tower and four more places of interest. Ericine Patisserie testings at a famous local place. Free time in the afternoon and evening in Trapani. Overnight in Trapani.
DAY 3 - EGADI ISLANDS - A DAY TRIP TO FAVIGNANA & LEVANTO ISLANDS
A complete guided day out visiting Favignana and Levanto Island. We leave Trapani by boat and spend the whole day visiting both islands on foot and by bike—free evening and overnight in Trapani.
DAY 4 - SELINUNTE ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE + CUSA CAVES
Half a day, we visit the Selinunte archaeological site and the caves in Cusa. A guided visit to the Mazzara del Vallo historical centre in the afternoon. Free evening. Overnight in Mazzara Del Vallo.
DAY 5 - MOZIA ISLAND + MARSALA
Today, we visit the ancient Phoenician island of Mozia with the ancient necropolis and the mosaics house. We see the Marsala Historical Centre in the afternoon and return to Mazzara for free time. We have a farewell dinner in a restaurant in Mazzara del Vallo.
DAY 6 - TRANSFER TO PALERMO
After breakfast, at 8.30 am, we head back to Palermo airport and Palermo city—end of Tour and arrival in Palermo at about 1.30 pm.

*We aim to have 12 participants! However, our tour company has agreed to run the tour also in the case that we have only 8.

Michela was great, very responsive before and during the trip. This Sicily small-group tour is an ideal introduction to Sicily's many and varied attractions, ranging from architecture to food to archaeology. Zoom calls beforehand meant I already knew the other participants when it started. The meals were an excellent introduction to Sicilian cuisine. HOW DO I SAVE MY SPACE ON TOUR?

By paying the initial deposit you save your space on tour. You can pay by using the pay link on this page or sending your full details (form below).

CAN I CANCEL MY TOUR RESERVATION ?

Due to the nature of our small group tours, you cannot cancel your tour reservation, after paying the deposit. For more info, please check out our tour cancellation policy.

WHEN DO YOU OFFER A FULL REFUND?

A full refund of the deposit is offered if the tour does not achieve the minimum of 8 people.

DO I NEED TRAVEL & MED INSURANCE?

International travel insurance is mandatory for all participants on our tours to cover any potential incidents or injuries that may occur during your stay in Italy and on tour, as well as flight and tour cancellation due to illness or force majeure. WHAT'S THE CONVERSION IN USD?

To get a price conversion from Eur to USD or AUD, or any currency please use a currency converter like xe.com. Rates fluctuate and change every day. Your credit card will process the payment and convert the amount in Euro into your own currency.

THE BEST WAY TO GET TO SICILY

Flying from the US or from AUS, you will need to land in Rome or Milano and from there a domestic flights to Sicily. Alternatively you can also consider Munich, Zurich, London and from there fly to Sicily. Most EU airports have daily flights to Sicily.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR OTHER MEALS?

All breakfasts, 2 dinners and 1 food tasting are included in the tour price. All other meals are at your charge. The average cost for a meal in Sicily is between 5-15 € for lunch and 15-30 € for dinner.

Are FLIGHTS INCLUED IN THE PRICE?

International and domestic flights to/from Palermo are not included in the tour price. We can help providing info and advice about the best flight connections for domestic flights as well as international flight to Italy.

WHAT'S THE STANDARD OF THE HOTELS?

We stay in 4 stars hotels, and most have a swimming pool too. We stay in 2 different hotels: in Trapani and in Mazzara del Vallo.

IS THIS TOUR A WOMEN-ONLY TOUR?

While this tour is created for women travellers over 50, and in our past tours, we had only women, this is not a women-only tour. We can accept up to 2-3 men on this tour..

DO I NEED TO DO THE WALKS?

The Zingaro Reserve Coastal Walk is 7 km long. You must be able to walk comfortably in nature and also on uneven surfaces, such as dirt road with an average elevation of about 100 meters.

THE AVERAGE length of the WALKS

We will be walking for an average of about 3-7 km per day. This includes walking in towns, sightseeing, walking and food tours, visiting archeological sites, and coastal walks.
