How To See Western Sicily With A Small Group Tour

This small-group journey focuses on a lesser-known side of Sicily: Western Sicily, where nature, coastal landscapes, and local culture come together in a quieter and more relaxed way. We explore the western part of the island, from the Zingaro Nature Reserve and the Egadi Islands to historic towns like Trapani, Erice, and Mazara del Vallo, with a balance of guided experiences and time to enjoy each place. The journey combines coastal walks, archaeological sites, and island life, with opportunities to connect with local traditions and enjoy regional food of Western Sicily.

DAY 2 ⎯ Scopello · Zingaro Nature Reserve · San Vito Lo Capo

Scopello. Zingaro nature reserve & coastal walk. Visit of San Vito Lo Capo. Hotel check-in Trapani.

DAY 3 ⎯ Erice · Trapani

Morning Erice guided visit. Pastry tasting + free time. Afternoon Trapani guided walk. Free time.

DAY 4 ⎯ Egadi Islands Favignana & Levanzo
Egadi Islands day trip: Favignana & Levanzo (ferry & boat trip + bike exploration + free time).

DAY 5 ⎯ Mozia · Marsala
Mozia island. Guided visit of Marsala and salt flats. Hotel check-in in Mazzara del Vallo.

DAY 6 ⎯ Mazzara d. Vallo · Selinunte

Guided visit of Selinunte archaeological site. Cusa caves. Guided visit of Mazara del Vallo. Farewell Dinner.

THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN DO I NEED TO CONFIRM MY PLACE?

Bookings are typically confirmed around 6 months before departure. Because we work with small hotels and trusted local partners, early planning is essential. These journeys are best suited to travellers who are comfortable planning 9–12 months ahead.

WHY SHALL I JOIN THE WAITLIST?

Joining the waitlist does not commit you to the journey.It gives you early access to full details, pricing, and the best level of support while you consider whether it’s the right fit. Guests who join during the early-bird window also receive additional benefits, including early-bird bonuses and savings on the deposit. You can still join later, but those who plan early usually benefit most.

HOW ACTIVE IS THIS JOURNEY?

This is an active journey with daily walking of around 1–3 hours. You’ll walk on a mix of cobblestone streets, steps, and natural paths. A good level of mobility and comfort on varied terrain is important. There is one longer walk (Vulcano crater), which is optional.

IS THIS SUITABLE FOR SOLO TRAVELLERS?

Yes! The majority of our guests, about 80% travel solo.You’ll be part of a small group of like-minded travellers, and private rooms are always available.

DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL WALKS?

All core activities are part of the shared experience of the journey. For longer walks an optional activity is offered. Each day also includes free time, from a couple of hours to free evenings for dinner.

ARE FLIGHTS INCLUDED?

No! Flights are not included.

Guidance on flights, timing, and travel planning is provided during the preparation phase, including the group Zoom calls before the journey.
