Not many know that the line where Gondwana continent broke off from India is still visible on several spots along the south western coast. That was the most stunning thing I could expect to see. The biodiversity you mention is what makes the region so special and unique and the reason why some of the best Australian food come from South West Australia! :-)

We did that corner of the world when we were travelling around Australia in 2004. We were towing a fishing boat and living in a tent. South West Australia is extraordinarily beautiful and is also one of the earths few biodiversity hotspots.
