How my love affair with Australia started
In 2004, the 25th of November was an important day of my life. The day I decided to take a break from work, the day I started to dream of travelling solo around Australia.
At that time, I was living and working in Germany as a project and sales, and after a long time of corporate life, I was keen to take a well-deserved career break. So, with the desire to leave everything behind, I started planning epic solo trips in Australia.
That trip was my first long-term trip in Australia, a significant trip that marked the beginning of a new life phase and the beginning of my love affair with Australia. In these past 10 years, I have worked and saved money to travel around Australia on 3 more long solo trips that have kept fuelling my love for Australia over time.
The 25th of November marks life-changing events.
Why am I so excited then about the 25th of November? Because things have evolved to a higher level and lead me onto a new life path and goal that I feel I am now ready to pursue.
After 4 long trips and 3 years of blogging about my, Australia travels I am willing to experience Down Under in a different way by living in the country and experiencing the Australian culture and the Australian lifestyle as a true local. In 2013 I took a big step forward. My biggest dream is to send out the universe! I know, sometimes it’s often easier said than done. But how can my dream come true?
Looking back to my dreams as a Teenager
By browsing through school photos, I came across this photo. As a young woman, I had a dream of living in London. That dream became real. A few years later, I was living in London as a student. Now I am raising my eyes to the sky and dreaming about living in Australia! 🙂
Yes, I am a daydreamer, and I will always be one. As a quote says
“You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream.”
How to take my Love affair with Australia to the next level?
My Love Affair for Australia was the trigger for starting my Rocky Travel Guide. Passion coupled with enthusiasm, dedication in sharing and promoting Australia Travel. It’s been hard work to set it all up, and it still takes a lot of time and works to keep it up at a professional level. While on one side, I feel confident about my work experience and the knowledge I have gathered along the blogging path, I know it’s not going to be easy.
What has happened in 3 years
In 3 years of blogging about Australia, my mission was to become an authority for Travelling Australia as an independent traveller and female solo travellers. With Rocky Travel, I have created a great resource for fellow travellers by sharing my 15 years of solo travels about travelling to Australia. I hope I have been an inspiration to many solo female travellers. At the same time, I could build connections between travel brands, tourist boards, and travellers through my experiences.
My love affair with Australia, blogging about it and more
While I love blogging and writing about my travel experiences, I have realized what direction I want to go and where I potentially see myself in the next few years.
There are various ways I can collaborate to help promote Australia Travel. I know there is a high potential in what I can do to create growth and win-win situations.
The outcome of 10 years of solo travels was Your Australia Itinerary as the ultimate guide for everyone who wants to travel solo or independently around Australia.
Because I do not take anything for granted
I love what I have been doing, and I am really willing to learn more along this way, develop my skills to work as a professional travel blogger and presenter. Some time ago, I was invited by a local private TV to host an Australia program, and I really loved it.
This was a fantastic opportunity for me to try it out that showed me where my potential is. I would love to collaborate with TV/Video and Film productions ranging from Promotional Videos to Broadcast tours/events/festivals etc.
The right connections and your help is gold.
While on one side feel I feel confident, on the other side, a feeling of uncertainty refrains me from taking the right steps, and I keep thinking of how can I take my love affair with Australia to the next level and make my dream come true? I do not know which is the best way to get started.
Connections are the lifeblood in our daily life. We are constantly driven by things that have been recommended by friends, family and people we trust. So maybe you can connect me with the right people that can help make my dream come true?
