What is your reason for travelling to Australia ?
- Inspiring stories, spreading by "word of mouth"
This is usually the reason for most people travelling to Australia for the first time. Friends and family have impressed you with their enthusiastic experience showing photos, videos, and you are so impressed that you want to make of Australia your next travel destination. Listening to others' experiences or reading a book or a travel report can definitely trigger off your "wanderlust" and be an excellent way to find an inspirational source for your trips and good advices too.
- Visiting friends or relatives
Australia's population is made of immigrants. Almost anyone has either a friend or relative expat there, who moved to Australia after the IIWW. A visit to Australia can be a way to bring family together and see friends again after a long time. This adds high value to your visit, first because it's a great opportunity for you to share with the locals invaluable information and tips about places, what do do and not do do, and second you may have the chance to be escorted during your stay too. You will get to know about things, facts, places, habits and cultural aspect you will never find out as a tourist.
- Adventure Travel, Sports, outdoor activities
If you are a sport fan, love the beach activities like swimming, surfing or scuba diving and want to spend your holiday doing your favorite outdoor activity than you should go to Australia. If you want to learn how to surf or adventure yourself into something new Australia is a great destination offering you a wide range of courses for all levels from beginners to expert covering from surfing, snorkeling, sailing, diving, kayaking, abseiling, trekking, climbing, golf, horse riding, and more. I myself did some "bushwalking" what the Australian call hiking. But I tell you there is even so much fun watching people surfing, or taking their lesson in abseiling....simply a gorgeous adventure!!
- Natural phenomenon
Nature is the queen, under the Australian icons, somehow everything and above all people seem to be shaped by the force of nature. From breathtaking coastal scenery to stunning desert landscape Outback areas, with amazing rock formations, the magical solitude of the ancient rain forest, immense national parks, the abundant and unique fauna and colorful flora. You can literally spend months and months by visiting an awesome natural environment and at the same time enjoying the beneficial effects of the Australian nature.
- Backpacking - traveling solo
Australia is a great destination for backpackers! If you are travelling solo and backpacking is you first experience it will be very easy to travel around Australia. To find accommodation, to get around from one place to the other. Anywhere you find the right place to suit you. I can highly recommend to stay in hostels they are very popular with backpackers and solo travellers, and it's the most common type of accommodation to be found in Australia at reasonable prices offering good value accommodation. There really heaps of them to choose from. Australia is in my opion is the friendliest country for solo travellers especially for women travelling alone, it is a women travelling alone.
- Working Holiday - Volunteering
Yeah, working holiday, sounds familiar to you, does not ? In the last year it has become so popular, especially among young people, who wish to spend some time in Australia or think about emigrating to Australia. Thanks to a special government program Australia provides young people with a great opportunity to spend a year there working and traveling. One year is a good time to enable you to travel around and "see it all" and at the same time you are allowed to work whenever you need to. Second, you have the opportunity to gain an insight into the Austrlian lifestyle, and look arond for job perspectives.
You can apply if you are under 30 years. To find out more about this click here.
Volunteering can also be a good chance if you want to spend a longer time in Australia.
There are several projects such as the farm project at WWOOF. and many more.
