Help Save the Koalas

December 28, 2011 Rocky Blog by Administrator

Meeting the team of the Wildlife Hospital

Volunteering with the australian Wildlife has been the most rewarding experience of my Koala9travels around Australia this year. The insight and the knowledge I gained about the threats koalas are undergoing in Australia was simply amazing, let alone the extraordinary personal experience of getting close to australian native animals.

The Wildlife Hospital in Beerwah has been doing an impressive job rescuing, treating and saving thousands and thousands of australian endangered animals, each year.

This year the Wildlife Hospital in Beerwah has been working at full capacity with 90 koalas patients all the time, and as every year there have been great koalas survival stories, and of course some sad ones too. This work is only possible thanks to the help of hundreds of volunteers who are offering their help on a regular basis, along with the generosity of donators without which the hospital could not keep up this unmatched performance.

There are loads of things to do on the island, but 5 of them are absolutely musts. Here below my tips for you:

Exploring the Kakadu National Park

December 09, 2011 Rocky Blog by Administrator

To Kakadu not To Kakadu?..this is the dilemma

If Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef are regarded as the two major attractions of Australia, the Kakadu Cooroboore_Billabogn National Park is definitely among the preferred australian destinations. Although the Kakadu is on the top 5 things to see in Australia, it is also the most controversial australian attraction that often divides people into enthusiasts and disappointed visitors.

With a size of half of Switzerland, for the ideal Kakadu Trip you need time, not one day, nor two days but at least 3-4 days so as to do this unique australian national park justice.
